YOLO COUNTY RESIDENTS TO HELP WRITE COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PLAN

Eight Yolo County residents have joined a new Community Advisory Program (CAP) to help write 2023-2026 Yolo County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)

Community Advisors come from the communities of Davis, Esparto, Guinda, West Sacramento, Woodland, and Zamora.


PART 1. PREPARE: Two CAP learning sessions

September 2022 to October 2022

One hour sessions for Community Advisors to learn about the Public Health Department and CHIP


PART 2. DEVELOP: Community Advisors join Workgroup to write CHIP

October 2022 – May 2023

Community Advisors join representatives from government, healthcare, and community-based organizations to develop the CHIP by:

  • Identifying priority locations and communities

  • Selecting county's top health needs to work on

  • Building goals for improving top health needs

  • Developing strategies to achieve goals


PART 3. ACT: Put CHIP strategies into action and track progress

June 2023 – June 2026

Participate in four action meetings each year and directly help get projects going (if applicable)

EMCC - Emergency Medical Care Committee Meeting

  • Introduction: The public is always welcome to attend these meetings.

This Committee is responsible for an annual review of ambulance services within Yolo County, emergency medical care in the County, including CPR and respiratory training programs, and First Aid practices. Each year, a report is created and submitted to the Emergency Medical Services Authority and other agencies.

The Yolo County Emergency Medical Care Committee (EMCC) meets quarterly on the fourth (4th) Thursday of January, April, July, & October in the Walker Room at the Bauer Building, 137 N. Cottonwood Street, Woodland CA. 

The public is always welcome to attend these meetings.
