Press Release

Portion of Russell Boulevard Bike Path to Close for Repair

(Woodland, CA) – Starting November 17, a portion of the asphalt bicycle path along Russell Boulevard (County Road 32) in Davis will be closed. The closure to pedestrian and bicycle traffic begins at the intersection of County Road 96 and continues approximately 2,000 feet to the east (toward the city of Davis).

This portion of the bicycle path was damaged in the course of efforts by a private utility crew to replace utility poles downed during a recent storm event. This portion of the path will remain closed until the damage has been repaired.

Signs and barricades are being posted to inform pedestrians and riders of the closed section. Cyclists may utilize Russell Boulevard within the damaged area to reach each side of the closed path section. “SHARE THE ROAD” with cyclists signs will be posted in each direction along Russell Boulevard in this section for the duration of the closure.

The Yolo County Planning and Public Works Department will issue a press release when this portion of the path has been repaired and reopened.
