PRESS RELEASE
As part of the effort to provide City of Davis water service to the North Davis Meadows community, general contractor, Soracco, Inc., will be constructing a new 14-inch diameter water pipeline connecting to the City’s water system. The pipeline will be installed in the southbound/western road shoulder of County Road 99D from the south side of the Davis Golf Course to approximately one mile south, near the City of Davis city limit, north of the Sutter Davis Hospital campus along John Jones Road.
Soracco’s team is planning to mobilize in the area on Monday, October 21. The work along County Road 99D is expected to last through December 2024. Work hours are expected to be between 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during weekdays. This work timeline will be weather dependent and may change due to inclement weather conditions.
“For nearly fifteen years, Yolo County has been working toward a funding solution to address water quality concerns in the North Davis Meadows community's public water system, most notably nitrate, hexavalent chromium, aluminum and iron in excess of maximum contaminant levels,” said Chair of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors Lucas Frerichs. “The start of construction of this project marks an important milestone in the journey to bring a long-term safe and reliable drinking water solution to the residents of this community.”
Please be prepared for intermittent road and lane closures during this time period. Travelers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Local access to properties and businesses in this area will be provided during construction.
