Lucas’ focus areas as a Supervisor are to:

• Continue and extend collaborations between Yolo County, interfaith and non-profit community, and UC Davis to address the homelessness situation and increase affordable housing throughout Davis & Yolo County.
• Initiate the Crisis Now partnership between Yolo County, cities, & UC Davis, to provide increased mental health services.
• Advocate for a county-wide strategic roadmap for the future of Children, Youth, and Families from cradle to career.
• Ensure that Yolo County leads the nation in preparation for, and response to, climate change through innovation, commitment, and courage.
• Create a Yolo County Office of Equity, which will work to eliminate racial inequity in our communities.
• Continue investing in county & neighborhood infrastructure, including newly reconstructed Davis’ Richards Blvd/I-80 & Winters’ I-505/Russell interchanges, fixing I-80 through Davis, repaving county roads & bike paths.
• Foster continued opportunities for high-quality jobs and economic growth county-wide.
• Strengthen our commitment to open space, preservation of ag land, and a strong agricultural economy.
