Yolo County
Home MenuWhat Is The County’s Home Energy Efficiency Program?
Yolo County is launching an exciting outreach initiative focused on two key home energy efficiency programs: the Home Energy Score (HES) Pilot Program and the Weatherization Program. These programs aim to improve home energy efficiency, reduce energy costs, and enhance living conditions for our rural, low-income homeowners and renters.
We are seeking dedicated community-based organizations (CBOs) to collaborate with the County's Sustainability Division. Your role will focus on outreach efforts to ensure our community is well informed about the available resources, and in distributing kits to residents in rural and unincorporated areas of Yolo County, with a focus on supporting low-income, elderly, and renter populations.
Any questions? Email us at sustainability@yolocounty.gov.
More About The Programs:
Home Energy Score (HES) Pilot Program: This program offers community members a voluntary energy assessment by trained technicians, producing a score and recommendations for improving energy efficiency. The pilot will cover up to 50 homes, focusing on low-income homeowners and multifamily properties.

- Staff Report on Updated Home Energy Score Early Action Project
Weatherization Program: Designed to equip low-income households and renters with free DIY weatherization kits, this program empowers community members to independently improve their homes’ energy efficiency. The kits include tools, resources, and educational materials to guide effective usage.
