Ag Irrigation Drip Tape - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - SOLID WASTE FEE APPLY
Agricultural Pesticide containers (approved plastic & metal containers will be recycled) HDPE plastic crop protection and other EPA registered pesticide product containers from agricultural and professional end users are applicable for this program. Drums must be cut in half for acceptance and containers larger than 55 gallons require written approval for acceptance. Call the landfill at (530) 666-8852 for more information.
All containers must first be triple rinsed then certified/inspected by the Ag Department prior to drop-off. Contact the Yolo County Ag Dept (530) 666-8140 to make an appointment for inspection and certification.
(Current acceptance of ag pesticide containers is on Fridays only from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) Please remove any label booklets plastic sleeves, paper, metal, caps, lids, bungs, and the majority, of foil from spout.
Pesticide container for this program, are not from home, garden, antimicrobial products, veterinary products, or other noncommercial uses. No pesticide or other crop protection containers that were never filled, filled and never distributed, or were subject of a recall.
(Agricultural) fumi-Cel pesticide packs - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - Bags/packs must be wetted, dewatered, and inspected. Packs must be accompanied by a Yolo County Ag Dept inspection form to be considered safe for disposal. Standard Disposal fees apply. Aluminum cans - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - FREE RECYCLING - #1, #2 #5 and #7 okay.
Air conditioner - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - APPLIANCE FEE APPLIES - includes standalone, window and portable units.
Antifreeze - ACCEPTED - Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during the Household Hazardous Waste event from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Asbestos - friable or non-friable - ACCEPTED - Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the Household Hazardous Waste event from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. - No longer than 3 ft in length, must be wetted, double bagged, securely sealed, and labeled to be accepted at the HHW events or customers my contact Class II Landfills for disposal options.
Asbestos - from businesses (friable or non-friable) - Businesses who are small quantity generators of hazardous waste may contact the County at (530) 666-8856 for an appointment to pay for proper disposal through our Household Hazardous Waste facility. No longer than 3 ft in length, must be wetted, double bagged, securely sealed, and labeled to be accepted.
Asphalt - road asphalt is ACCEPTED at no cost - (concrete gravel, sand, moderate wire, rebar ok) Minimal soil with asphalt is ok. It is OK for rebar to be incased in the asphalt, but it is not OK for asphalt to be incased in rebar.
Bamboo - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - FEES APPLY
Batteries - automotive, motorcycle - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - FREE RECYCLING - Household batteries - non-rechargeable, alkaline, button batteries from watches, etc. - rechargeable nickel cadmium Ni-Cd, Nickel Metal Hydride Ni-MH, Lithium ion (Li-ion) - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - FREE RECYCLING - (Yolo County Residents only)
Brake Fluid - ACCEPTED - Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during the Household Hazardous Waste event from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Burn Waste - Contact the landfill prior to hauling for approval information – Examples of burn waste are fire damaged buildings, structures, or large burn pile debris. Christmas trees – ACCEPTED - FEES APPLY - must have no ornaments, flocking, tinsel, garland, lights, and the stand must be removed in order, to be recycled otherwise it will be land filled as garbage.

Drums empty - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - must be open for inspection (clean, dried, and vented) lids off or if there are only bung openings, they must be cut in half.
Dryers - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY -FEES APPLY
Electronic waste - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - FREE RECYCLING (for residents only) - computer monitors, laptops, televisions, and/or DVD players containing cathode ray tubes (CRT), liquid crystal display (LCD). plasma screens - These items are covered by the Electronic Waste Recycling Act. Electronic waste from businesses, schools, churches, organizations, government, etc. will be accepted for a fee.
Explosives - ammunition, bullets, airbags etc., - NOT ACCEPTED - other options - contact local law enforcement at (530) 666-8920 for details on proper disposal.

Green waste - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY - FEES APPLY - leaves, grass, branches, brush, bamboo, tree rounds not to exceed 12" in length, straw / hay bedding and manure, bamboo, palm fronds, cactus - Green waste RESTRICTIONS: Sudden Oak Death; Light Brown Apple Moth; LBAM Quarantine Facts - Commercial haulers and landscaper's must sign a Compliance Agreement to haul and dispose of restricted green waste. *Note palm trunks are not considered for green waste and will be charged a garbage rate.

Kegs - NOT ACCEPTED - Must be recycled through distributor. *Note accepted if no distributor is labeled or distributer defunct.
Lawn Mowers - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY -FEES APPLY Electric powered units must have battery removed prior to recycling. Gas powered equipment charges as an appliance due to servicing costs.
Light Ballasts - ACCEPTED - If bulbs are removed (ex. HID bulbs fluorescent bulbs. etc.) and Capacitor/Transformer is removed the light fixture itself is accepted as metals recycling. Capacitors and ballasts clearly marked "No-PCBs" can be accepted free of charge as E-Waste.

Manure - ACCEPTED - for disposal (includes straw/hay bedding mixed with manure). Being accepted as green waste for composting.

Medical Waste - ACCEPTED - (sharps, including needles, lancets, test strips, etc). Oil (PDF) - ACCEPTED - (Daily for free recycling) - 15 gallon limit - Motor oil, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, kerosene, differential fluid, diesel fuel and diesel oil (5-gallon or less sized containers required to reduce spillage when pouring oil into tank) NO CHLORINATED SOLVENTS/FLUIDS - (ie brake cleaner power steering fluid). Ovens - ACCEPTED - FEES APPLY
Paint - ACCEPTED - latex and acrylic water based) - containers must be sealed with no leaks, must have original label and be easily identifiable as latex paint. Refrigerators - ACCEPTED EVERY DAY FEES APPLY - Must be empty of any items, including food/food scraps and must stand the refrigerator upright when removing from your vehicle.
Roofing tiles - FEES APPLY Inert Waste Rate - Used and clean concrete and clay roof tile (no wood, tar paper, or trash), Solid Waste Rate - New concrete and clay roof tile, or used tile that is mixed with wood, tar paper or trash.
Septic waste (PDF) - ACCEPTED - call the landfill prior to hauling for acceptance criteria

Shopping Carts - NO - Contact carTrac toll free at 1-888-992-4778 or (818) 817-6712. If carTrac issues a log as scrap value then we can accept as clean scrap metal.
Smoke detectors, household - ACCEPTED - residents are encouraged to return them to the manufacturer for disposal due to certain smoke detectors containing small amounts of radioactive material. At this time, the county can accept them from residents since they are exempt from the regulations prohibiting disposal. Please pull out any recycle the battery.
Sod - ACCEPTED - mixtures of sod, dirt, weeds.
Soda Ash - ACCEPTED - Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the Household Hazardous Waste event from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
