However, Businesses are now required to pay a fee for some items.

Residential and Businesses can recycle the following items for free.

Electronic Waste

        • Televisions - including LCD and Plasma
        • Computers, Computer Monitors and laptops

The following items are free to residents only:

  • Keyboards
  • Cell Phones and Tablets
  • Audio equipment
  • Printers
  • Video Cameras
  • Camcorders
  • GPS Systems
  • Counter top appliances and vacuum cleaners  (Microwaves excluded)

  • CDs, DVDs, VHS Tapes (Techno Trash)
  • CHAIRS (power operated units)
  • CHRISTMAS TREES (artificial/pre-lit)
  • CLOTHING/SHOES
  • Garland (artificial/pre-lit)
  • Irrigation Solenoid Valves
  • Massage Chairs
  • ORGANS - Wood   
  • Smoke Detectors (without batteries)
  • WOOD encased units (Including Speakers, Stereos, etc.)
  • XBOX Chairs

REDUCE

Lease electronic equipment. 
    
This option allows purchasers who want up-to-date products to return the old 
    equipment to the vendor for upgrades or for credits towards new products.

Consider product attributes before purchasing electronic equipment.
Choose products that have:    Easy upgrading ability
                                            Reduced toxic content (i.e. reduced lead, mercury)
                                            Longer life expectancy

REUSE

Repair products to extend lifespan.

Donate old equipment to schools, nonprofits and charitable organizations. 
    Some organizations will accept nonworking equipment to repair for resale or to 
    refurbish other systems.
RECYCLE
Electronics recycling is still a new industry.
    
Check your local yellow pages under: Computer Dealers-Used and Recycled; 
    Environmental and Ecological Services; Recycling Equipment and Services; 
    Scrap Metals; Waste Disposal-Hazardous; or Waste Disposal, 
    Reduction and Recycling.
