ENCROACHMENT PERMITS
An encroachment permit assures that County property will not be damaged and if so, proper repairs are made.
An encroachment permit is required any time construction work will be conducted within the public right of way.
Examples of work requiring a construction encroachment permit are excavations, sign, post, and fence installations, equipment/structures placed upon the street and/or sidewalk, vegetation planting/trimming, driveway or sidewalk installation/replacement, utility work, and traffic control.

FILM-MOVIE-COMMERCIAL PERMITS
These permits are required for commercial filming activities within County road right of way or on other County property administered by the Department of Community Services. News coverage is not considered commercial filming. If you are planning to film within or along a County road, or on County property, please email us first at ppw@yolocounty.org so we can discuss your plans together before completing permit materials.

PARADE-RACE-ASSEMBLAGE PERMITS
Examples of events requiring a parade/race/assemblage permit are neighborhood block events, walkathons/marathons, marching band review or parade, bicycle rides or races and material placed upon the street and/or sidewalk. These permits are also subject to the approval of the Yolo County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol, and local fire districts.

TRANSPORTATION PERMITS
The Yolo County Public Works Division has the discretionary authority to issue special permits for the movement of vehicles/loads exceeding statutory limitations on the size, weight, and loading of vehicles contained in Division 15 of the California Vehicle Code. Requests for such special permits requires the completion of an application for a Transportation Permit.
The Yolo County Public Works Division is responsible for the administration of the Transportation Permit program through the uniform issuance of Transportation Permits.
