The Yolo County Public Information Office, led by Dwight Coddington, Yolo County's Public Information Officer, plays a key role in keeping the community informed, engaged, and connected with local government. Working alongside Laura Galindo, a Management Analyst who also contributes to the County's Office of Emergency Services (OES), the office is dedicated to enhancing public knowledge, encouraging community involvement, and building trust through effective communication.

This office is responsible for producing and sharing important news and information about Yolo County’s governance. It handles media inquiries, leads community engagement initiatives, and coordinates outreach efforts across various departments, including creating news releases and public service announcements to keep residents updated.

Additionally, the office manages content on the County’s website and oversees its social media accounts, ensuring all communications align with the County's branding and strategic goals. This consistency not only fosters an image of professionalism among the county's public servants but also strengthens the connection between residents and their local government, empowering the community to engage more actively in county initiatives.

In emergencies, the Public Information Office plays a critical role within the Emergency Operations Center. During crises, it disseminates urgent information that can help protect lives, providing timely updates and instructions to keep the public safe and informed.

Overall, the Yolo County Public Information Office, operated by dedicated public servants Dwight Coddington and Laura Galindo, is committed to elevating public awareness, fostering community engagement, and building trust within the community. This mission aligns seamlessly with the objectives of Yolo County and the Board of Supervisors, who aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents by enhancing the quality of life throughout our diverse community. Through strategic communication and proactive outreach, the office strives to empower residents and ensure their voices are not only heard but actively valued.
