CALFRESH HEALTHY LIVING PROGRAM

The Yolo County CalFresh Healthy Living Program provides nutrition education, resources, environmental support, and other activities and events throughout the county. With a focus on the low-income population, CalFresh Healthy Living supports CalFresh in teaching their clients how to manage their money, how to shop for healthy and affordable foods, and how to make healthy choices for their meals, snacks, and beverages. Currently, CalFresh Healthy Living is working on a variety of projects in different settings including schools, family resource centers, rehabilitation centers, and the Yolo County Service Centers. The program promotes campaigns such as "Harvest of the Month" and "Rethink your Drink" and their services in their community typically involve partnering with other community agencies to host nutrition classes, cooking demos, taste tests, retail environments improvement, and general promotion.
