Guidelines for Access to Public Records

Access to information concerning the conduct of the people’s business is a fundamental and necessary right of every person in this state. (Cal. Govt. Code § 6250) In the exercise of that right, the public may request, inspect and copy public records maintained by state and local government agencies, including the Yolo County Probation Department. It is the policy of the department to provide information to the public that illuminates its operations and also to protect against disclosure of confidential information and other information that is exempt from disclosure by applicable laws.
