Power Outage

Power outages can occur due to rolling blackouts, extreme weather conditions, or can accompany other disasters such as earthquakes and fires.  In certain cases, local first responders can even request that the power be turned off to make it safe for responders in the area to work on an incident.

Public Safety Power Shutoff

High winds can bring tree branches and debris into contact with energized lines, damage equipment and ignite a wildfire. As a result, we may need to turn off power during severe weather to help prevent wildfires. For more information on Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) by PG&E.

During a PSPS event Yolo County will update a live interactive map of areas impacted by the potential or current event.
